It was a wet, windy, and wild weekend at the USATF club cross-country nationals in San Francisco. Weather-related issues included downed trees on the course, delayed races, and a course reconfiguration where all races, with 1,900 participants, were contested on a 3/4 mile track! Our Philadelphia Runner Track Club and the Liberty Track Club made the most of it!
PRTC – On the men’s side, it was Michon, Morgan, and Mahalsky placed in the top 20, and rounding out the scoring were Matuszak and Lavosi, who locked up the 4th overall team finish. This is the club’s highest finish ever and is extremely impressive as they edged out some truly professional squads.
PRTC had the top women’s team in PA.
Liberty Track Club – We had a great time out in San Francisco. It was great to represent Liberty Track Cub for the first time at USATF Club XC Champs! Despite the rain, cold, last-minute course change, and related shoe change (eek, yes, some were forced to race in their trainers!), all our women toed the line with a smile and put their best effort out there on the day! It was a great event and an overall fun weekend for our team.
